From the desk of our executive director
Greetings in Jesus' name!
As I think of November, there are many words to describe this month. Two words stand out: "thanks" and "giving". I am thankful that CrossRoads has had the opportunity to touch many of your lives in the past year, and the ways you have given back to the ministry. I am thankful as I watch our Heavenly Father touch lives through the power of the Holy Spirit bringing healing, reconciliation, freedom, salvation, and a changed life to so many.
Hearing and seeing the trauma, terror, and pain of world events, I feel very thankful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, cares for me, and gives me hope. I pray that each of you is also experiencing those same attributes and promises of your Heavenly Father.
While it is true CrossRoads has been very blessed, there continue to be needs in the ministry. The cost of living has risen significantly in the past year, making it difficult for clients to afford the fees. Our policy has always been never to turn anyone away. Our financial administrator works very hard at becoming creative to help compensate for parts of the fees. We find our scholarship fund frequently depleted as more clients are in need of scholarship monies.
In this month of giving, one way to support and bless CrossRoads would be to designate a financial gift to our scholarship fund. A second need would be our general fund, which is used for all other expenses in the ministry. Client fees are divided whereby 60% goes into general expenses and 40% into payroll. Donations go into general expenses or specified needs.
My prayer for each of you is the following scripture: 2 Corinthians 9: 10 & 11 "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God".
And that you would have a blessed Thanksgiving and peaceful, joyful holidays.
John Lehman,
Executive Director
